Gorgous , sophisticated and charming folding dressing table by Luigi Massoni for Poltrona Frau. It is a sophisticated piece with a cylindrical shape, upholstered with light beige velor / plush. Each half cylinder has interior lighting. It has circular wooden surfaces and glass shelves. It presents an elegant Italian design of the current "Space Age" in the style of Luigi Masssoni for the house Poltrona Frau. Manufactured in the 1970s in Belgium. Beautiful original condition. It is based on the IDEA of an optimistic world after the success of atomic energy and space travel. This style is aesthetically inspired by the North American space race and everything that has to do with outer space such as space satellites, helmets, ships, the effect of weightlessness and an optimistic proposal for a new futuristic lifestyle. The sphere is adopted as the main morphological reference, as we see in the design of this dressing table, referring to satellites or space helmets. This aesthetic influenced all fields of design: architecture, Industrial products, interiors, clothing, graphics, textiles, etc. and also great designers, such as Luigi Massoni. More about Luigi Massoni and Poltrona Frau Designer born in Milan in 1930. He began his professional career in 1954. Since 1972 he was president and responsible for architecture and Industrial Design at A & D. Among the companies he worked for is Poltrona Frau, for which he designed since 1967. Poltrona Frau is an Italian furniture manufacturing company founded in 1912 by Renzo Frau. The company name combines "Poltrona", the Italian word for armchair, and "Frau", the surname of its founder.
