About the Item

This is an old Japanese wooden object. It is carved from the root of a tree. I believe it was made from the late Showa period to the early Heisei period. The wood was originally a light-colored material, but I have dyed it black using natural dyes. The dark, root-like structure stands out beautifully when hung on the wall, creating a striking silhouette as an art piece. The complex, intertwined roots of this object evoke the vitality of the wood, giving it a powerful energy. It complements both modern spaces and those with a wabi-sabi aesthetic. As shown in the photos, there are some insect holes (shown in photo 10), but these are old and do not pose any issues. This is a highly recommended item. The size is 80.8 cm at the longest point.
