Ava de Lagercrantz, (1862-1938)
Classic Swedish artist who was a royal painter who worked in New York and Paris.
She painted reigning monarchs.
In 1909 she painted King Gustav which is now in Carnegie Hall, in the studio.
King Oscar, the father of the present ruler, she also painted.
This portrait is of Hans Alin, a writer and cultural writer.
He wrote the screenplay for Domen in 1925, which was the first film with sound.
Most of his career was in the USA.
