About the Item
Anatoly Shlapak (Ukrainian, 1929-2014), Impressionist style oil on canvas "Docked Sailboats", signed "An. Shlapak" in red at lower right, in giltwood frame.
Anatoly Shlapak graduated the College of Fine Arts and began a career in the motion picture and theatre industries. He developed a reputation for portraits and figurative work exhibited in the Ukraine and the then Soviet Union. He moved to the United States of America in 1979 and began to expand his painting style. Experimenting with Impressionist and Post Impressionist styles he found his romantic voice. The result is a collection of of naturally vibrant landscapes and still lifes, rich in texture and expression. His work was exhibited at Gallery Revel, 96 Spring Street, NY, NY.
