This abstract painting is composed of various materials (mixed-media artwork).
The background consists of a piece of white-painted cardboard with a textured and scratched surface that creates a beautiful rough finish.
On top of it, a rectangle of jute canvas has been glued and painted.
Finally, an abstract painting on thick paper is mounted in the foreground.
The entire piece is set in a handcrafted white-painted and patinated wooden floater frame.
The painting is signed on the back “Madi 1997” and includes a text by the artist-author. "Madi" is most certainly a nickname for "Madeleine".
The painting can be displayed either vertically or horizontally, according to your preference, although the artist has installed a hanging system on the back designed for horizontal display.
