A Belgian framed oil on canvas painting by Charles Van den Eycken (1859 – 1923), depicting two dogs in an interior. Created in Belgium during the second half of the 19th century, this oil on canvas depicts an interior scene. Two small dogs, a white one and a brown one, are looking directly at us, inviting us in the scene. Resting on an elegant cushion, they both receive the light coming from the right side of the composition, and stand out on the darker background. Set inside a giltwood frame, the painting showcases a label in the back, and the name of the painter, Charles Van den Eycken, an artist specialized in pictures of interiors, dogs and cats. With its skillful execution and nicely carved frame, this late 19th century Belgian oil on canvas painting will enliven any wall beautifully.
