This is a pleasant portrait of a small dog.
The antique painting is signed at lower right Marion Rodger Hamilt Harvey (1855-1913),
english painter born in Ayr.
Appreciated Scottish artist who lived in Glasgow
and has exhibited regularly at the "Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool."
Harvey painted portraits of dogs and horses, worked in oil, pastel, watercolor and etching.
The work bears an authentic gilt frame coeval with the 20th-century painting.
The Antique Painting and the frame have been carefully and professionally restored.
