Chromolithographs "Grand Foyer Et Loggia De L'opéra De Paris" Daumont 19th C.

About the Item

This pair of 19th century chromolithographs by Daumont presents two views of the grand foyer and loggia of the Paris Opera. On one, there is a view of a detail of a bay decorated with an "Italia" medallion painted by Paul Baudry for the Paris Opera. The second lithograph shows the north tympanum of the octagonal west salon, on the Rotunda of the Moon side. A door surrounded by two candelabras and overhung by a very large painting by Félix-Joseph Barrias, "La Musique champêtre". These two chromolithographs were published in 1880 by Ducher & Cie for the book "Le Nouvel Opéra de Paris".
