Early 20th Century Oil Painting Irish Setter Dog in a Stable
About the Item
An antique painting of a hunting dog in a stable, assumable an Irish or French Red & White Setter. Painted with oil on canvas. It has no signature. Due to its uncommon dimensions, it is a beautiful pennant painting, for example between two windows. In the style of John Emms (England, 1843-1912), who was a well known and productive painter of hounds.
Two restorations have been done by a professional restorer. The sides have been redone in canvas, the old edge was worn. The new edge is painted with dark paint to form a nice and neat whole.
