Fine Antique English Watercolor Painting, Adam Style Palace Interior Rendering
About the Item
A fine antique Adam Style watercolor interior design rendering reminiscent of Osterley Park, London. Dramatic blue-grey and pale salmon tones set the stage for this striking interior, with a pair of large formal doors with arched architectural elements flanking an immense mirror with fine giltwood appliques. Soaring Neoclassical columns define the space and an elaborate frieze composed of elegant urns and symmetrical garlands draws the eye to the soaring ceiling. The interior is sparsely furnished with a fine Adam Style mahogany desk and chair, topped with a pair of candle holders and flanked by a pair of girandoles on stands.
Adam Style is defined by decorative motifs which include grotesque forms, urns, dancing nymphs, foliate scrolls, pilasters and framed panels. Iconic Adam Style residences such as Kedleston Hall, Syon House, Derby House, Kenwood, Osterley Park and Audley End have influenced and inspired some of the world's most prominent architects and interior designers.
This beautiful watercolor is in very good condition, well framed in a modern frame of antiqued silver finish.
