Framed Still Life Oil Painting on Canvas by G. Davoise is an interesting interpretation of a staple of the art world. Vases full of fresh, colorful flowers have inspired artists both young and seasoned for centuries. Here we see Davoise using bold brush strokes and a muted jewel tone palette in a style influenced by impressionism. Even with subtle coloration the contrast remains noticeable, and use of light and shadow are deftly performed. Note how Davoise has blurred the distinction between the surface upon which the vase is resting and the backdrop wall, with all detail concentrated on the flowers.
