An exceptionally large and dynamic oil painting by Mid Century artist Gino Hollander. An acrylic on canvas depicting an impressionistic village landscape with white washed houses. On a well supported stretcher. The artist is well known for Abstract Expressionism.
Signed lower left and dated 8/67.
Measures: In a wood frame height 76", width 60", depth 1 3/4"
Condition: Very good with only acceptable age and use wear and presenting exceptionally well.

Gino Hollander
Born in 1924 in Newark, NJ, Gino Hollander attended Rutgers University before serving in the U.S. Army’s Mountain Division Ski Troop during World War II. Hollander had a successful career as a documentary filmmaker throughout the 1950s. In 1960, he decided to focus on painting after becoming friends with Abstract Expressionist painters at the Cedar Tavern. He died at the age of 91 in 2015 in Newport Beach, CA.
