Exhibitions in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Holland, Austria, the USA and Moscow in 2002 bear witness to his work.
The whimsical artist is a member of the Junge Wilde. His very own inner worlds in an expressive painting style often show animals, nature and people in an ideal world. Hacky and his art are difficult to categorize and cannot be compared. Built between fantasy and reality, he takes the viewer into his waking dreams. As early as 1994, the Leopold Hoesch Museum showed Ritzerfeld in a solo exhibition; Wolfgang Becker calls him an artist-artist. In 2000, he was honored with exhibitions for his 50th birthday and in 2020 for his 70th birthday.
Hartmut Ritzerfeld died on January 1, 2024 as the result of a car accident.
