Large portrait of a young girl, Henri VOLLET( 1861-1945)
About the Item
Portrait of a young girl (or boy), painted full-length, left arm resting on a black lacquered armchair.
Signed lower left Henri VOLLET, dated 1888.
Pupil of Fernand Cormon, a painter whose workshop at the Beaux-Arts saw the work of many artists, including Van Gogh, Lautrec and Lin Fengmian.
Honorable distinction at the Salon des Artistes français in 1888, bronze medal at the Exposition Universelle in 1900, 3rd class medal in 1891, 2nd class in 1897, Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur in 1904.
His works on Indochina can fetch €40,000 at public auction.
