A mixed media on cardboard painting by Mexican painter and sculptor Nahúm B. Zenil. The work features a double self-portrait of the artist. The portrait of the foreground shows him as a naked woman in a room with a bed and a leopard rug over detailed tiles. The portrait of the background shows him as a man in a suit looking at the room's interior. The painting is signed on the lower left and dated 84.

Nahúm Bernabé Zenil was born in Chicontepec, Veracruz, in 1947. At age 12, he moved to Mexico City with his mother and siblings. An elementary school teacher by trade, Zenil inherited his taste for arts from his absent father. In 1968, he decided to study plastic arts formally at the Nacional School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving "La Esmeralda". A painter of personal iconographies, obsessed with miscegenation and patriotic symbols, his work usually exposes his condition as a LGBT+ artist in his self-portraits. A member of the "Neo-Mexican" generation of creators, Zenil lives and works in Tenango del Aire, near Mexico City.
