About the Item

Towards the end of the sixties Natale Sapone radicalizes his approach and starts to build his paintings completely with the compass. It is a group of works which he sums up with the term "Movement". Simultaneously with the radicalization of the building making a radicalization of the color treatment. Characteristic of the work of Sapone is the circle that was overlooked by many artists in favor of concrete square and right angle. Since the 1970s, he worked on variations of the square, the circle and the segment of the circle. Thus, it was born through dynamic rotations perceptible space later through sorting and intersection of circles on the basis of the right angle led to pentagons . Thus, in the 80 pentagons marrying circles and angles, he developed a system of harmonious and orderly grid offering a multitude of varied expressions. This rational closely related system with more subjective choices are recurrent in the creative process Sapone. Through the use of selected colors and their locations, the artist is fully aware of the expected outcome . With tones defined in black and white contrast and complementary clouds, the artist delivers a harmony of colors, mixing turn around and felt. Distinction: 1972 Promoted knight of honor of national solidarity by the President of the Italian Republic for his long artistic creativity in Switzerland and representative of the Italian culture. 1975 First prize of the city of Geneva, Clock Museum, awards for his work on the enamel in Geneva. 1980 First prize "Kunst am Bau" for his sculpture at the University of Zürich- Irchel. 1986 Distinction of the city of Frauenfeld in gratitude for his artistic work. 1986 Crop price Thurgau Frauenfeld.
