VINTAGE FRAMED THEATRICAL ARTWORK, 20th Century
An original stage design for an opera which depicts an extremely grand interior with performers in period costume as well as the musicians towards the back of the stage. All sitting within red cut-out curtains.
Painted with watercolours, pen and ink in a free-flowing and confident style with bags of character by renowned Russian stage, set and costume designer Ekaterina Mikhailovsky, born in St. Petersburg in 1963 she has worked on countless film and stage productions.
Signed to the lower right.
Probably dating to the late 20th century. c. 1980s-1990s period.
Framed and glazed in a complimentary gilt frame.
It is in excellent vintage condition with only very minimal wear commensurate with age.
Overall measurements are 71cm x 57cm x 2cm and the painting size is 53cm x 38cm.
