A decorative pair of Italian 19th Century gouache paintings of sailors on the Bay of Naples before Vesuvius erupting by day, and another by night, dated 1855.
Framed in a frame from the same period, 56 x 73 cm.
Sheet: 40 x 58 cm
Done as commissioned work for Hans Henrik Thor Claudius Sørensen, when he was presumably at anchor off Naples in 1855.
