About the Item

This is a pair of endearing water colour paintings signed Landau. They were framed in two matching golden frames and come with small sturdy loops at the back for hanging. The paintings were made on behalf of a pharmacist in the mid 19th century as you can tell by the motives at hand. One painting shows the old "Äskulapnatter" which is still the symbol of pharmacology today due to its medicinal use in earlier times. In the other painting you can see an assortment of chemist's bottles on a shelf at the top of the picture and a medicinal text book ready to be studied by a young scholar. Each framed picture is 28.1cm high and 14.6cm wide. The frames are 1cm deep. Absolutely no scratches or chips in the glass or wooden frames.
