About the Item
Oil on canvas “Sailing Home” by Artist John Nys born in 1952, in Sacramento, California.
Rich color palette with thick texture. It’s is a scene from the Lighthouse in Jupiter Florida inlet.
His father was in the Foreign Service, in the Middle East and Europe. Traveling with his family through various parts the world allowed him to find his inspiration in art and museums and historical monuments in his childhood years. He remembers that he started to draw as a very young boy before he even learned to write. In his teenage years he has fond memories of hitchhiking to art museums and is inspired by had minimal art training in Washington DC at the University of Maryland and Tacoma, Washington.
John now resides in Jupiter, Florida with his wife, and is retired as a real estate adjuster and is living his life as a full-time artist.
