About the Item
One of a kind, original oil on canvas, with trompe l'œil effect of curling figures. Signed lower right; unframed.
50.25ʺW × 1.25ʺD × 40ʺH
Piece has a whimsical Surrealist feel and has been expertly painted and is a convincing depiction of a material unfurling in space. Nice, neutral palette with a small hint of red.
The artist attribution is Pearl Rebhun. She was known for her intense and passionate still-life paintings, which were often larger than life and displayed a dynamic quality. These works used high-keyed tones to define shape and perspective, creating a "radiating glow".
