Cupid Awake and Cupid Asleep framed photographs
About the Item
This pair of "Cupid Awake" and "Cupid Asleep" framed photographs have been hand coloured, highlighting the hair, cheeks, lips and the arrows which is unusual as most of these photographs were left plain. The frames measure 280 mm (11 inches) by 280 mm (11 inches) and are the original frames. The two photographs were copyrighted by the photographer M B Parkinson of New York in 1897 with the copyright details shown on the arrows the cupid is holding. The model was Josephine Anderson, the daughter of a friend of Parkinson. She died in the 1970's. The pieces are in very good condition and would date from around 1900.
