Original vintage advertising poster for an Edvard Munch exhibition held at the Haus der Kunst museum in Munich from 12 November to 19 December featuring Munch's 1895 needle and ink self-portrait depicting himself looking at the viewer set over a dark background, the poster omits a Skeleton Arm present in the original artwork. The notable Norwegian expressionist and symbolist movement painter and graphic artist Edvard Munch (1863-1944) was known for his artworks entitled Madonna, The Scream and The Sick Child. Printed by Franzis-Druck, G. Franz'sche Buchdrukerei G. Emil Mayer, Munchen. Good condition, creasing, pinholes, minor staining.

Edvard Munch
Edvard Munch was a Norwegian painter and printmaker whose intensely evocative treatment of psychological themes built upon some of the main tenets of late 19th-century Symbolism and greatly influenced German Expressionism in the early 20th century. One of his most well-known works is The Scream of 1893.
Born in 1863 in Löten, Norway, the famed painter established a free-flowing, psychological-themed style all his own. His painting, The Scream, is one of the most recognizable works in the history of art.
Munch's later works proved to be less intense, but his earlier, darker paintings ensured his legacy. A testament to his importance, a pastel rendition of The Scream sold for more than $119 million in 2012 — setting a new record.
