Original vintage World War Two recruitment poster for the USCG United States Coast Guard Women's Reserve (known as SPARS from the Latin USCG motto Semper Paratus / Always Ready): Your Duty Ashore ... His Afloat. Great design depicting a smartly dressed lady in a US Coast Guard uniform and holding binoculars in her gloved hands in front of a man in military uniform holding a gun in the background, the text above and below with the logo. Artwork by the painter, illustrator, cartoonist and WWII combat artist John Joseph Floherty (1907-1977). Good condition, restored pinholes, restored tears, minor staining, backed on linen.
