Artists and Engravers: Made by 'J. Folkema' after 'Tako Jelgersma'. Jacob Folkema (1692-1767) was a Dutch designer and engraver, born in Dokkum. Initially trained by his father, he later came under the tutelage of Bernard Picart in Amsterdam. He was also an excellent mezzotint engraver. On some of his plates he had help from his sister, miniature painter Anna Folkema. Taco Hajo Jelgersma (1702-1795) originated from Harlingen. He trained as a marine and portrait painter.
Condition: Good, given age. Some minor crinkles and creases. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Created in 1976 for the exhibition of the artist at the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem. Dimensions: 30.25" W x 1.5" D x 39.25" H (framed). In very good vintage condition.
