About the Item

The hand-colored botanical print, Corona Imperialis Polyanthos or Crown Imperial Lily, was originally by Basil Besler (1561-1629) a Nuremberg, Germany pharmacist, and published in the renowned publication "Hortus Eystettensis" in the 1600s. Each botanical work was inscribed with their Latin names. This flower print has rich colors of blue and green on a cream background and is framed in a rustic wooden frame. It appears to be an 18th or 19th century example in very good condition for the age.
