Elfi Schuselka Original Signed Lithograph

About the Item

An original hand signed lithograph by listed Austrian artist Elfi Schuselka (b. 1940). The abstract scene depicts six different colored ropes descending from a black hole in a cumulus filled blue sky over a vague teal horizon. Signed in pencil in the lower right. This piece was showcased in the Aesthetic Realism Foundation’s ‘Surface to Begin With” Exhibition that ran from December 2011 to November 2012. Art measures 22.5” x 22.5”, set in a white mat in a gold metal frame measuring 30.25” x 30.25”. Schuselka studied photography, art history, and theater at the University of Vienna. She moved to New York in 1964. Her work has been exhibited internationally in the United States, Italy, France, and Japan, as well as at the Cracovia Biennial, Yugoslavia, Ibiza Biennial, Spain, and the Sao Paulo Biennial. Her work is part of the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York, the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, Fort Worth, and the International Centre of Graphic Arts, Slovenia. Long a regular exhibitor at the famed 55 Mercer Gallery, Schuselka is well-known in New York art circles.
