Mid-19th century "Townsend's Rocky Mountain Hare" Audubon Print from the 1st Octavo Edition of "The Viviparous Quadrupeds of North America". Drawn from nature by John James Audubon. Drawn on stone by Hitchcock, printed and color lithography by J.T. Bowen, Philadelphia. This is No 1 (volume), Plate III, 1849-54. The rabbits stare towards the Great Rockies. Museum framed in Richmond, VA. Frame: 15" x 18.25" x 0.75".
