Pair of woodblock prints

Paper size: 10 ¼ by 15 ¼ inches
Frame: 15 by 21 inches
The woodblock prints are floated in simple black frames. There is some foxing and toning to the paper. The framing shows some wear.
Ohara Koson (Shoson) was a Japanese painter and print designer, part of the shin-hanga movement. He studied at the Ishikawa Prefecture Technical School and also studied painting under Suzuki Kason. He worked with Watanabe Shozaburo publishers (where he signed his work Shoshan), instrumental in creating the shin-hanga movement.
