" The Painter Loves his Model ", Engraving, 20th Century
About the Item
Beautiful engraving entitled the painter in love with his model engraved by J. B. Michel. It is enhanced with watercolour. It represents a painter in his studio in full creation in front of his model. In this workshop, presence of various artistic disciplines: sculpture, painting and much material. The model is a young woman dressed in 18th century style sitting on a Louis XV style chair. Behind her is a hidden figure holding her hand. The painter is in the midst of creating with a palette and brushes in hand. In front of him is a large canvas with a drawing of the naked woman.
This scene comes from a comic opera, written in the 18th century, by Louis Anseaume.
