About the Item

A rare 18th Century set of 12 handcoloured copperplate engravings of Zoological studies, featuring primates of varying species. Each colourfully executed with a naive charm, and Latin names underneath. Mounted in painted moulded wood frames. After illustrations by Heinrich Altenwanger. Circa 1775. In good condition and still retaining good colours. Price includes free delivery throughout the UK. H: 37 cm (14 9/16") W: 32 cm (12 5/8") D: 2 cm (0 13/16")
