Silkscreen Sixteen Balls in Green by Julian Stanczak, Signed Numbered, US c 1970

About the Item

Julian Stanczak (1928 – 2017) was a Polish-born American painter and printmaker. The artist lived and worked in Seven Hills, Ohio with his wife, the sculptor Barbara Stanczak. Julian Stanczak explores the visual, psychological, and emotional resonance of color in his Op art paintings, through which he aims to induce a “color meltdown,” as he describes: “I want to fuse many colorants and their gradations into a single color experience.” Influenced by Josef Albers and Russian Suprematism and Constructivism, Stanczak creates abstract compositions full of vibrating colors and optical illusion. Shapes pulsate, colors glow, and vertical lines shuffle and dance across his intensely energetic canvases. To contemplate a work of Julian Stanczak, just by moving one’s gaze or moving a little allows very clearly to capture the optical surprising effects that he wanted to produce. This screenpring named "Sixteen Balls in Green" is signed in pencil. Signed in pencil, reproduction 38/165. Very good condition. Shipping: 72/72/0.1.
