Suite of 5 Directoire-period etchings and aquatint engravings depicting scenes from antiquity, after drawings by Jean-Guillaume MOITTE (1746-1810), author, and by the engraver Jean François JANINET (1752-1814). François Jules Gabriel Depeuille (1750), publisher. 4 engravings: (52 cm / 24 cm) with gilded wooden frame (70 cm / 42 cm): - La Vertu de Lucrèce. - The Death of Lucretia. - Catilina's Conspiracy Discovered. - Coriolan's Constance / Coriolan, condemned to exile by the Tribunes, consoles his wife and mother and recommends his two children to them. 1 engraving: (48 cm / 21 cm) with gilded wooden frame (54 cm / 37 cm): - The officer apologizes to Philopoemen: I pay interest for my bad appearance. Condition report: framed under glass with some foxing.
