Vintage Framed Portrait of a Race Horse in Wood Frame by C. Frederick Sitzler

About the Item

A framed portrait of a racehorse by artist C. Fred Sitzler. It features a print of a racehorse from his ears to the tops of his shoulders. He has a black coat with a narrow white patch down his nose. He wears a green bridle. The entire piece is framed in a wood frame that has an antiqued patina. The print is matted with a brown oval mat with glass on the front. This would be a great addition to a country house, a boy's room, or a kitchen. About the artist: Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., Sitzler lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., Summit, and Westfield before moving to Westfield. Mr. Sitzler was a local artist specializing in portraits and paintings of thoroughbred racehorses and dogs. He attended schools in Summit and graduated from Summit High School. Mr. Sitzler attended the Art Students League, the Parson School, and the Grand Central School of Art, all in New York City. He was a member of the Westfield Art Association. During his professional career, Mr. Sitzler painted many of the most famous thoroughbred champions of the time. Dimensions: 12.25" Tall 10" wide 1.25" Deep
