19th Century Picture of Silk Embroidered Needlepoint in Original Hardwood Frame

About the Item

This is a beautifully hand embroidered, needlepoint, silk tapestry panel in a hardwood turned frame dating to the mid-19th century Victorian period, circa 1850. The tapestry panel is finely hand embroidered on silk with fine needlepoint stitching in different coloured threads depicting flowers and leaves. The embroidered panel is set behind a glass front in a well turned hardwood frame, possibly walnut, which looks original to the piece. The frame has a brass hanging ring.
