Panel embroidered in small sec stitch. XVIII

About the Item

This panel was made using the back of an antique armchair. The beautifully crafted embroidery is from the late 18th century, while the trimmings, also handmade, are of recent workmanship. The scene depicts the courtship of a young man who tries to attract the attention of the shepherdess with his flute, who, judging by the look on his face, seems to be pleased. The colors are bright and the composition very centered. The state of preservation is fair although various restoration works can be seen.
