About the Item

Daniel Drouin (French b. 1937, death unknown). Daniel began his career with the famous tapestry workshops of Gobelins and became an expert in the craft of tapestry weaving. He later moved with his wife back to his hometown of Venasque in the south of France. He founded a weaving school that attracted artists from as far as Australia. Drouin also began creating his own modernistic designs and created unique wool tapestries woven thick yarn. They are rare and have recently become prized by collectors.
