About the Item
This is an antique silk Azerbaijan embroidery woven during the 18th century and measures 76 x 74CM in size. It has an all-over highly geometric floral design with muted pastel colors. It has a single border that follows the field’s color palette and geometric floral design. The design of this rug takes inspiration from early classical Turkish Oushak “Bird” rugs. This piece has been retained in OK condition with some wear and areas where the silk is beginning to split which is consistent with its age. These textiles are highly collectible and desirable by rug collectors all over the world.
