17" Early Electric Ribbed Milk Glass Industrial Pendant

About the Item

An industrial milk glass shade featuring raised ribs leading from the brass fitter to a 3/4 rounded lip. This type of glass shade would have been found in a number of industrial settings and retail stores in the early 20th century. The milk glass offers a soft opaque glow allowing defused light to shine above while direct light shins below. While these types of shades were made by pressed glass methods, there are variances in both shape and opaqueness creating their charm and beauty. There are three equally spaced vent holes within the shade. The solid brass fitter has been patinated to a dark antique brass. The antique brass finished steel chain is 36" in length and terminates at a solid brass period style half dome canopy also patinated to dark brass. Total adjustable height is approximately 42". It is wired with period style single conductor rayon wrapped cord scissor jacked through the chain.
