1940s 1.04 carat Diamond Sapphire Ruby and Yellow Gold Brooch

A fine and impressive 0.93 carat emerald, 0.24 carat ruby and 1.04 carat diamond, 18 carat yellow gold brooch; part of our diverse vintage jewellery collections. This fine and impressive vintage brooch has been crafted in 18ct yellow gold. The brooch is ornamented to the centre with a feature fourteen-claw set 0.93ct emerald cut emerald. The central stone is flanked on either side by a collet set round brilliant cut ruby, totalling 0.24ct. Either end of the central elongated quatrefoil-shaped setting is embellished with eight collet set eight-cut diamonds. The border of the central setting is ornamented with thirty-four pavé set diamonds. The stylised leaf shaped terminals of the brooch feature twenty-seven pavé set eight cut diamonds, completing the design. The brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and sheath fastening. This gemstone brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18ct gold. This fine and impressive vintage brooch has been crafted in 18k yellow gold with 18k white gold settings. The brooch has been modelled in the form of a perched bird. The body of the bird is embellished with impressive scalloped white gold settings accented with twenty-four pavé set Dutch cut diamonds, replicating the details of the wings. The bird's head feature further pavé set Dutch cut diamonds to the crest, in addition a round faceted cut ruby representing the eye.
