Andrew Grima 18 Karat Gold, Citrine and Diamond Brooch

About the Item

The most incredible gold brooch by perhaps the most famous modernist jeweller to have lived, Andrew Grima. Formed from 18 karat gold this 'nest' style brooch is crafted with satin-finished gold bars which interconnect, centring on an octagonal citrine and accented with baguette cut diamonds. The three dimensional pin is typical of the work by Grima in the 1960s and is reminiscent of some of the famed pieces he made for royalty and high society. The pin is hallmarked for Haller Jewellery Company which is where Grima first began designing his jewels before forming his own company. Fully hallmarked with London hallmarks, the brooch (and matched earrings) are assayed for 1965. To the rear there is a white gold pin with a yellow gold trombone clasp which is working well and is secure. Andrew Grima most notably has designed jewels for Princess Margaret, Princess Anne and the Queen, and his jewels in recent years have become extremely desirable. This pin truly is a one of a kind object which has all of us at The Antique Guild totally mesmerised. Marked - 'HJCo' along with London hallmarks for 1965 Measures - 4.8cm wide by 1.5cm deep Total diamond weight - 0.90 carat Total weight of piece - 19.88 grams
