Antique Art Deco 18K White Gold and Platinum 2.2ct Diamond Arrow Jabot Pin
About the Item
An Art Deco white gold, platinum, and diamond brooch, comprising twenty-seven old cut diamonds, set in platinum, and backed 18 karat white gold, with a white gold pin.
This striking brooch is formed as an arrow. Arrow jabot pins were at the height of fashion in the Art Deco era and judging by the Belle Epoque influences to the design, I would judge this as being an early example. The elegantly pointed arrowhead is set with 6 sparkling old cut diamonds, which are round in shape, and surrounded by millegrain edging. The pin is in white gold and leads to the diamond encrusted fletching of the arrow. 14 further old cut diamonds make up the main portion of the fletching, which has been designed in a fan shape, with geometric openwork details which make this brooch all the more striking when worn. The brooch is crowned with 7 beautiful cushion shaped old cut diamonds, which are fabulously sparkly, and each bezel set with millegrain edging. The diamonds graduate in size from the centre out, and the diamonds are bright, sparkly, and well matched with one another, with lovely clarity. A truly striking piece of Art Deco design. The brooch is fastened by pulling the arrowhead away from the fletching, which can then be re-attached through your garment. The brooch is in excellent condition. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
The brooch measures 78mm high, 21.5mm wide and 6mm deep. The pin measures 1mm wide.
