Antique Enamel French Bulldog with Diamond Eyes 14K Gold Stick Pin - Cravat Pin

About the Item

As a passionate dog lover, I was delighted to find this charming antique enamel "Frenchie" French Bull Dog stick pin (or cravat pin) with sparkling diamond eyes. He/she is wonderful in original form but could also be converted into a lovely pendant. The golden brown enamel "fur" has been done so beautifully on this 14K yellow gold pin, adding to the dimensional design of the dog's head, along with a white blaze and black nose. Small, chunky old cut diamonds for each eye, approximately 1.2 mm in diameter, are all original to the piece. With an overall length of approximately 2.5 inches (63 mm) including the pin stem, the dog's head itself measures approximately 5/8 x 9/16 of an inch (16 x 14 mm) On my scale, the finished weight is 2.33 grams. The reverse of the dog's head has a plain, polished finish with a crisp mark of "14K." Both diamonds are in very good original condition with no nicks, chips or scratches. There is some slight wear to the enamel, which is seen more in my macro photos than in life using the naked eye. The little loss on the nose looks much like a highlight, so I don't find it bothersome; there is a little wear near the mouth and a little along the edges of the ear, but the warmer colors of the gold seem to add a very natural looking variation to the color, in my opinion.
