Antique Hand Painted Owl Portrait Stick Pin - Cravat Pin in Gold
About the Item
Wonderful as an original antique stick pin or cravat pin, this charming hand painted Owl would also be wonderful converted to a custom ring or charm pendant.
Crafted of yellow gold testing around 10K to 12K, the stick pin features a small, round hand painted ceramic portrait of an Owl. (a Screech Owl, I believe) It remains in very good original condition.
The Owl portrait itself measures just over 9/16 of an inch in diameter (approximately 14.71 mm) within its closed back bezel setting; the stick pin including the pin stem is approximately 2 7/16 inches tall. (60 mm)
With natural colors of brown, russet, orange, cream, white, green and yellow, the Owl is done in a stylized yet naturalistic way. There are only slight signs of wear on the glazed surface, seen with magnification, and a little old grime. (I've left the piece as found) On my scale the finished weight of the pin is 2.67 grams.
