Art Deco Apple Green Jade Diamond Stick Pin - Cravat Pin in Platinum & 18K Gold
About the Item
Offered is a very elegant Jadeite and diamond stick pin/cravat pin dating to the Edwardian to Art Deco period.
The jadeite jade and old cushion cut diamond are set in platinum bezels with crisp milgrain edging, while the pin stem tests as 18K white gold.
With a lovely apple green color and glossy finish, the jadeite has a marquise shape, measuring approximately 7/16 x 3/16 of an inch or 11.2 x 4.2 mm. An additional milgrain edged border sets off the stone. (please note that your screen may display colors a bit differently than mine does)
At the base of the jade, the wonderful old diamond glitters. It measures approximately 2.5 x 2 mm, with a chunky old mine cushion cut and open culet. I estimate it to weigh approximately .06 to .07 carats. It has very good color in the near-colorless range as well as good clarity both to the naked eye and under magnification.
In very good condition, the pin stem shows only slight wear. The total length of the piece measures approximately 2 13/16 of an inch (70 mm) and weighs 1.80 grams on my scale.
