Detailed Art Deco Diamond Cross Pendant in 18K White Gold
About the Item
Beautifully detailed with crisp milgrain and open work, this diamond cross pendant is sizable but has an elegant, airy feel to it and remains in wonderful condition.
Crafted of 18K white gold (marked and tested), the cross features 12 extremely fiery bezel-set brilliant cut diamonds & 8 tiny rose cut/flat cut diamond accents. The total estimated carat weight is approximately .63 carats.
Including the oval shaped bail, the cross is approximately 1 15/16 inches high, with a width of approximately 1 1/16 inches. (48.5 x 27.8 mm) On my scale, the finished weight of the pendant is 3.92 grams.
Each brilliant cut diamond is bezel-set at the center of double bordered and milgrained hexagon shaped open work, except for the center diamond which is set in a square, with four rustic rose cut diamonds at each corner of the square. Additional tiny rose cuts adorn the top, bottom and each end of the cross. The open gallery allows lots of light into the diamonds, making them very bright.
Measuring approximately 2 mm in diameter, the brilliant cut diamonds have good color that I judge to be in the near-colorless range. They face up very white and very brilliant. All are eye-clean, with good clarity under magnification and no damage.
The rose/flat cuts have a more rustic cut with good color and clarity that offer a bit of extra twinkle and detail.
A small maker's mark is present on the bail - I'm not familiar with it; it may be a stylized "G." The loop it connects to also has a small mark of "18" for 18K gold.
