This rare brooch features an elegant woman with long flowing hair and a diamond and emerald headdress set against a plique a jour enamel backdrop reminiscent of stained glass. The finely wrought piece is rendered in 14k gold with hand etched details on the reverse that are almost as exceptional as those on the front of the piece.
The brooch measures 1.6 inches from top to bottom by 1.2 inches wide, and it bears an indecipherable maker's mark.
It is in very good condition with some minor crazing to the plique a jour enamel panels visible only under magnification.
