Robert Lee Morris Sterling Silver Horseshoe Crab Brooch, 1985
About the Item
This brooch is a perfect combination of organic and architectural forms in harmony. The iconic bold organic style of Robert Lee Morris is on display with this brooch in the top of the design and the bottom is hard edge engineering with movement. The little solid silver bars are linked into a woven pattern with long rivet pins. Unusual and original design from a leader in the jewelry design realm. Looking like a sea creature, but not exactly a replica of anything known, the mysterious hole in the top of the brooch pairs beautifully with the positive and negative spacing of the hard edged fluid bars.
