Late Victorian 14K Gold Banded Agate Cufflinks
About the Item
Offered is an elegant and very classic pair of late Victorian 14K gold banded agate cufflinks.
With a total of 4 high dome cabochons in closed back gold settings, the banded agates are far prettier than photos can capture. They have a warmth and luminosity to the caramel, butterscotch and white coloring of the stones, and a beautiful high polish that remains in wonderful original condition. (please note that your screen might display the colors a but differently than mine does.)
Each measures a little over 5/8 x 3/8 of an inch. (16.61 x 9.7 mm) On the reverse is a small hallmark of "14K" as well as a small maker's mark of an "S" in a circle. On my scale the finished weight is a nice 9.31 grams.
There is one tiny spot of wear to a gold bezel, as shown in my macro photo, otherwise the slightest bit of superficial wear to the gold is present. The stones are undamaged and in wonderful condition.
