Gabriella Kiss Love Token Eye Cufflinks in 14K Gold
About the Item
Beautifully made and incredibly hard to find, this wonderful pair of 14K gold cufflinks was made by the talented American jeweler Gabriella Kiss. They are part of her "Love Token" series. I hadn't seen cufflinks made by her before finding this marvelous pair, so I reached out to Gabriella's studio. She was gracious enough to respond directly to me and confirmed that she made these cufflinks and that she hadn't made any in a "great long while."
Each cufflink features one of her elegant, sculptural hand carved eyes in an oval medallion; one eye is crying. The medallions are ever so slightly different in size, measuring just under 3/4 x 1/2 an inch & 11/16 x 1/2 an inch. (18.2 x 13.1 mm & 18 x 13.1 mm)
The reverse is marked for 14K gold, as are the inside of the bars holding the torpedo style backs. They don't have the signature mark her new pieces have (which is one reason I wanted to confirm with Gabriella that these are hers). I will include the email correspondence with her, so you will have verification from the artist that these are authentic and not copies.
On my scale, the pair weigh 10.79 grams. They remain in very good vintage condition with only light wear. Quite splendid and special.
